BMW has published a video in which they told us the story of MotoGP safety-cars. For the last 20 years, the M division has been supplying the championship organizers with its best cars.
The video shows the current BMW M5 Competition with seats from the M4 GTS track coupe and a set of components from M Performance, coupe M4 with water injection into the intake manifold, as well as a pace car based on the Z8, prepared for the 2001 racing season.
However, the video did not include all the M-cars that were used in MotoGP. For example, in the 2009 season, the safety car of the championship was the crossover X6 M. The Car was equipped with the 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine with 555 horsepower and 680 Nm of torque. From a place to a hundred kilometres per hour M-crossover could accelerate in 4.7 seconds.
