The Swiss branch of BMW prematurely revealed the exterior of the updated Z4 roadster. The official photo shows the two-door with the M-package in the model’s new purple Thundernight Metallic color.
The difference from the initial Z4 body G29 a bit: after restyling roadster will get a different grille with large cells, stretched horizontally, and a front bumper with modified air intakes for brakes. Optics and hood will not change.
Judging by the spy shots, no significant changes are expected in the rear of the BMW Z4 or the cabin of the roadster. It is not necessary to wait for a revolution in technology, but for some markets there will be a surprise.
Insiders believe that after the restyling, a manual transmission can be ordered in combination with a six-cylinder engine, that is, a three-pedal BMW Z4 M40i will enter the market. Also a slight increase of power of four- and six-cylinder versions is possible.
According to unofficial data, the premiere of the updated BMW Z4 will take place within a month and a half, and production will start in November. Perhaps the roadster will be shown shortly after the debut of the latest M2 coupe, and the next Bavarian brand innovation will be a hybrid supercrossover XM.
