It is quite common that the exhaust system on E34 cars is still fully functional after 10 years and/or 200 000 km. And the catalytic converter will continue to work for at least 5-10 years without any problems. But at approximately the same time you should replace the exhaust system (probably both center and rear silencer) you must also replace the flanges connecting the catalytic converter and the center silencer together, since these have probably already met the death of rust.
When the front stabilizer bar links are worn out they usually make an annoying clink noise everytime you drive over a bump. There could be of course other reasons for that clink noise but the front stabilizer bar links are often the cause butand luckily they are easy to replace.
The reason behind replacing a brake pad carrier can be several. But in this case it was due to a broken brake caliper guide bolt where a small part of the bolt remained in the brake pad carrier (on which the brake caliper is mounted on). A quick and easy solution is to simply replace the entire brake pad carrier.
